Discussion Question 1:
What does it look like to find our CONTENTMENT in God, and how can that help us defeat the enemy?
Contentment in God is equal to TOTALLY trusting God in ALL things. When we fall back on our own strength, we are actually at our weakest and more vulnerable to defeat. God is able to give us victory when we trust Him and follow His plan.
Discussion Question 2:
Discuss the difference between self-confidence and God-confidence. Name a few reasons we can place our CONFIDENCE in our God when it comes to defeating the Enemy.
Self-confidence alone is prideful while God-confidence includes submission to God first.
He gives us true strength.
He gives us the ability to stand firm when our flesh is weak.
God is our all-knowing Creator, all-powerful, always present and most of all He is our Loving Father who wants the best for His children.
Discussion Question 3:
What are some practical ways we can fight the urge to quit– to give up–and instead face our battles with PERSEVERANCE?
Focus on God’s amazing love for us and for the effect He wants us to have on those we love, for His mission and purpose for us, for His Glory.
Never Give Up!
Discussion Question 4:
When we face our battles with FAITH, how does that impact the kingdom?
Faith in God makes our lives worth living!
“The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see”
(Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG)
Discussion Question 5:
What are some ways that you have found to nurture an INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP with God, and how has that intimacy helped you face spiritual battles?
My intimate relationship with God has grown through the most difficult trials in life – sickness, death, grief, depression, heartache. When I keep my eyes on Jesus, my heart grows stronger with love for Him. During these times, prayers and kindnesses in His name by friends and family provide a healing balm. In good times, my personal Bible study (especially ones like this) along with worship and fellowship with fellow believers have also helped my intimate relationship with God grow and grow…
Still learning to pray, still learning to listen. God is not finished with me yet… Have much room to grow!
