In my attempt to be crafty and give gifts that had more meaning because I actually did something besides click my mouse (which I’m not judging, I still did plenty of that in preparation for Christmas), I decided to try to make some of the Christmas gifts for the kids’ teachers and others.  I found this idea on Pinterest and it was super simple.  Jared liked it so much he decided to do it for some of his staff as well.

As you can see, I used my Cricut to make monogrammed decals on the jars so they could be used for decoration once they used the cookie mix.  Here’s the recipe and how I did it.

What You’ll Need:

1 box Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix {15.25 oz.}

1 bag Red and Green M&M’s Minis Baking Bits {11 oz.}

1 quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar

Scrapbook Paper

Ribbon

What You’ll Do:

Carefully empty the contents of the cake mix package into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar, and gently pat down the top.

Pour in the M&M’s.

Put the  jar topper on top, place a round scrap of scrapbook paper on top, then screw on the jar’s lid.

Tie a bow around the middle with your ribbon.

Optional:  if you have a machine that can cut vinyl or you want to buy vinyl letters, you can monogram the jars for a more personal touch.

Attach a Label with Baking Instructions:

Attach a label with the following baking instructions:

• Beat together 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.
• Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.
• Chill dough for 20 minutes in the refrigerator prior to baking.
• Then, drop onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet in rounded balls.
• Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes {or until done} at 350 degrees.
