While everyone else gears up for the New Year, are you not quite as excited? Are you afraid of the what plans God might have for your 2014? Check out this 5-minute video (my first video-blog) about dealing with fear of God’s plan for your life.

Question: What goals have you set for 2014? What challenges do you foresee? Have you ever had something bad happened that turned out to be for the best?

  1. Very powerful.

“For nothing is impossible with God.”

I’ve heard that verse a thousand times but I never knew it was in the context of the Christmas story until this year. Luke 1:37. Gabriel said this to Mary after she was trying to understand how she could get pregnant “34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?”

How amazing is it to know that “for nothing is impossible with God” was in reference to God sending His only Son to set the perfect example for us to live our lives by, pay for our sins, die on a cross and get raised from the dead by the same spirit that lives inside of us who believe in Jesus.

So the question we have to ask ourselves is do our prayers and lives look like we believe “for nothing is impossible with God?”

    1. Russ, I feel like most of the time we pray “me-sized” prayers instead of God-sized prayers. Thankfully, we serve a patient God that understands that we often fall short because we try to limit God by our own limitations. Oh, that we would be reminded of God’s power, love and mercy and walk confidently into the future He has planned.

  2. Felt like you were speaking directly to me this morning! Resigned as a partner from my company of15 years, put our house on the market, praying for Gods direction! Battling fear of the future!

    1. Wow, Diana, I feel you. When we don’t know the future, it’s easy to be afraid because it feels like there is more uncertainty than security but that’s when we look through our narrow lens. Through the big lens of God’s perspective, there is always more security. Praying for your 2013!
