Be-Atitudes-Week 1

As we begin a new study, please realize it will take some time and adjustment to figure out how and when you will add this study into your life.  Choosing to study God’s Word takes intentionally.  It is making one choice to choose Jesus and then making the next choice.  It is a series of choices that lead to a rhythm and lifestyle of seeking after God.

If you get behind, don’t worry.  These lessons aren’t going anywhere!!  This Bible study is designed to be flexible for your schedule.  If you get behind, you can catch up!  I would encourage you, however, to not rush.  Rushing through lessons doesn’t do much for heart transformation.  Give God the time to allow His truth to saturate your heart.

So, here we go!  Week 1: If you’ve done a study with me in the past, this one will be a little different.  I’ll tell you more about it in the first video.  Note there are 2 videos!  Sit back, enjoy, and let God speak to your heart.

    1. Though – what ‘we’ usually consider happiness is a good to great feeling when we get something we want or need but it’s often temporary because it fills wants/needs that eventually change. So, blessedness is truly filling a need that’s constant and that’s from inside of us and doesn’t change with our condition or environment.

  1. “Totally impoverished…totally dependent” is a great way of looking at “poor in spirit”. I began thinking how a baby is totally dependent on someone for everything…and how the giggle of a happy baby compares to nothing else! Then I thought how Jesus said, “unless you become as a little child, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven”. Ties in beautifully, doesn’t it? I’ve always thought of being humble as being ” poor in spirit”. Trying to be humble is rather counterproductive. So much concentration on what “I’m” doing results in more “I” problems…the central part of prIde. Thanks for this new focus. Total dependence on the One who totally cares for me. Awesome.
